Complex geometry is the normal case, not the exception.
Our tools navigate the pipelines that conventional ILI turns down — in oil, gas and water, onshore and subsea, from 2 inch gathering lines to 60 inch city mains.
01 · Onshore
Gathering pipelines
Small diameter gathering systems from 2 inch up, including the congested and awkward lines that rarely see an ILI tool.
Launch and recover through pig valves — no barrels required
Single module tools maintainable by local crews
Caliper, EC, MFD and UT sensor options
Tools: Pioneer, Pioneer Small, PigValve
02 · Offshore
Oil and Gas Pipelines
Main export lines, flexible pipelines and risers, including deepwater assets and complex geometry around subsea structures.
Proven in 200,000 bbl/d deepwater pipelines
Launch and receive from short facilities in the turret
Passed a subsea multi-diameter tee — an industry first
Tools: SmartFoam EC, SmartFoam UT
03 · Utilities
City networks, water and force main
Water and force main pipelines have a different set of challenges. Low density SmartFoam inspects ductile iron, cement lined and non-metallic pipe up to 60 inch.
No launchers or receivers required in confined space entry
Vertical launch available; tools can drop into void spaces or be collected in baskets
Proven across US cities and on 12 inch fire water mains
Tools: SmartFoam EC, Caliper
04 · Non-metallic
Fibreglass and HDPE pipe
NMP has its own failure modes — and until recently no inspection method. i2i tools pass the ID reductions caused by pipe interconnectors.
Detects kinks, dents, deformation, internal and external corrosion, water ingress and layer disbondment
Proven through 4 inch (85 mm ID) and 3 inch (63 mm ID) connector reductions
Field trialled in Odessa, Texas on a 1,500 ft loop
Tools: Pioneer NMP, Caliper
05 · Downstream
Refinery pipework and heat exchangers
Small bore pipework, 1D bends, furnace and heat exchanger tubes — inspected with minimal disruption to the unit.
Tools from 1.5 inch to 5 inch, smallest at 2 inch
Designed for 1D bend passing in schedule 80 pipe
MFD and UT phased array sensing
Tools: UT Pulse, Pioneer Small
06 · Security
Illegal tap and leak detection
Designed to remain onsite and be run frequently, so leaks and illegal taps are found and reported quickly rather than at the next campaign.
Tools stay with the asset for repeat runs
Rapid reporting on leak location
Supports a monitoring programme rather than one-off inspection
Tools: Patrol
07 · Storage
Tank farm and dead lines
Pipelines with no flow and no conventional access, many never inspected, driven by air or nitrogen at low pressure.
Tools go into nominal pipe from 8 inch to 60 inch
Pushed with water, air or nitrogen
Low pressure operation throughout
Tools: SmartFoam EC, Pioneer
08 · Lined pipe
Cement and HDPE lined pipe
No metallic components touch the pipe wall, so liners are not damaged. Sensor data covers the integrity of both the liner and the carrier pipe.
Cement liners up to ¾ inch thick
Odometer wheels in 90 PU or nylon on request
Oil and gas HDPE liners and utility cement liners
Tools: Pioneer, SmartFoam EC, Caliper
